Anand Saxena (Parikshat Sahni) an honest police officer is trapped in a false case of bribery by his colleague, Rana (Pran), and seasoned criminal Jacob (Kader Khan). Anand's son Raj (Sanjay Dutt) falls in love with a fellow collegian, Rati Verma (Rati Agnihotri), but her father rejects the match after accusing Raj's father of being a cowardly and corrupt police officer. Determined to prove his worth and clear his family's name, Raj joins the police force. But what he doesn't know is that, in doing so, he's made himself a puppet in the hands of the very people who defamed his father. Will Raj find out the truth and take on the might of Rana who is now a commissioner and Jacob, who is a wealthy black marketer?
