Tatya, seen as a god, predicts events in his village. His son Datta's wife Shanti is criticized for not having kids. Vaman, his other son, drinks a lot. Devki, his daughter, causes trouble. Tatya advises Shanti to go on a pilgrimage. She gets pregnant and Tatya fights cancer. After Tatya dies, Shanti has a son. Villagers think Guru is Tatya reborn, causing tension in Datta and Shanti's family.
