Laxmi is a talented dancer but the circumstances have made it difficult for her to live an independent and respectable life. She is stuck under the clutches of her aunt Ram Pyari who makes her work as a courtesan. Professor Nirmal Kumar comes to her rescue and helps her get higher education and respect despite strong opposition from society.
