Sheela leads a lavish lifestyle along with her dad, Ghanshyamdas. One day, she interviews a prospective candidate, Mahesh for the post of an Engineer. Mahesh is poor but pretends to be rich. He manages to impress Sheela and they both fall in love with each other. Sheela’s dad approves of their union. Later, Sheela and her dad are informed by the Police that Mahesh has been caught for possessing a briefcase with Forty Lakh Rupees in it. Sheela tries to bail him out, but is taken back, when told by the police, that he has managed to escape. She tries to find out how Mahesh had so much money with him and why he escaped from prison.
