Pyarelal's (Master Bhagwan) father is disappointed in him because Pyarelal loses his job and cannot contribute money to his sister's wedding. Dejected, he leaves home, determined to become an actor and manages to do so with Asha's (Geeta Bali) help. He then regularly sends home money and gifts. But when he returns home to meet his family, he is shocked to see them in great distress. The money and gifts have vanished; his mother is dead; his father and sister are missing while his sister's wedding has been called off; his brother cannot support himself and his sister-in-law has a dark secret that she cannot tell anyone.
