R.K. Khanna has some problems at his workplace due to a headstrong union leader named Shankar, who wants better housing and benefits for all workers and has threatened to call for an indefinite strike if their demands are not met. Meanwhile, R. K. Khanna's daughter has fallen in love with a young man named Raja and wants her father to meet him. Mr. Khanna's initial reluctance turns into a full-blown resistance when he learns that Raja is a poor motor mechanic and Shankar's brother. He threatens Anju to stay away from Raja or he shall have the boy killed. Will Mr. Khanna's hostility ruin the innocuous love story?
